    Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys

    ウェスタン・スウィングの先駆者として有名です。ボブは1905年にテキサス州ライムストーンで生まれました。小さい頃からフィドルを達者に弾き、メディシン・ショウに参加したり、バンドを組んでダラスのラジオ番組に出演して活躍した後、1934年にタルサでボブ・ウィルズ&テキサス・プレイボーイズを結成しました。コロンビアの前身であるARCに1946年まで所属し、数多くのヒット曲を生み出しました。その後もMGM、デッカ、キャップ、UA、ロングホーンなどに数多くの録音を残しています。1975年5月13日に死去しました。
