カウボーイ・ジャンキーズ　Cowboy Junkies

カナダのバンドです。友人同士のマイケル・ティミンズ( Michael Timmins [gt] )とアラン・アントン( Alan Anton [bs] )、キム・デスチャンプス( Kim Deschamps, [steelgt] )は、1979年からバンドを組み活動していました。1984年になり、マイケルの弟のピーター( Peter [dr] )と妹のマーゴ( Margo [vo] )を加入させます。当時のマーゴは、とても内気で、バンドに背中を向けて、つぶやくように歌っていました。彼等は自主制作でアルバムを作ることを思い立ち、250ドルを払ってトロントの古いトリニティ教会( Holy Trinity )を借り、たった一本のマイクを囲み、わずか一日で録音しました。それが1988年の初アルバム「The Trinity Session」です。
2017年1月19日～21日に来日公演しました。

「Sweet Jane」はルー・リード、「I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry」はハンク・ウィリアムズの曲です。
