デキシー・ハミングバーズ　The Dixie Hummingbirds

ジェイムズ・B・デイヴィス( James B. Davis )が1928年にサウス・キャロライナ州グリーンヴィルで結成しました。アイラ・タッカー( Ira Tucker )の多彩なリードとウィリアム・ボボ( William Bobo )の弾むような声のベースからゴスペル・ハーモニーが組み立てられ、1940年代にアポロとゴッサムからレコードを出して全国的な知名度を得ました。1950年代はリードを交代で受け持つジェイムズ・ウォーカー( James Walker )とギター奏者ハワード・キャロル( Howard Carroll )が加わり、ピーコックから多くのヒット曲を出しました。
