自作自演歌手のフローレンス・ウェルチ( Florence Welch )を中心に活動するバンド名です。フローレンス・ウェルチは英国ロンドンのキャンバーウェルで生まれました。学生時代にはパンク・バンドを組んで歌っていました。初アルバムは2009年「Lungs」です。
2010年2月10日に来日公演しました。2012年2月1日に来日公演でした。
