    ジェシー・メイ・ヘンフィル　Jessie Mae Hemphill

    1923年10月18日にミシシッピー州コモ近辺で生まれ、2006年7月22日に死去しました。祖祖父はチョクトー・インディアンで、ファイフ・バンドで有名なシド・ヘンフィル( Sid Hemphill )です。1991年に公開された映画『Deep South Blues』に出演して注目されました。1979年と1981年の録音が1998年に「She-Wolf」としてCD化されました。アルバムは2003年「Heritage of the Blues: Shake It Baby」、2004年「Dare You to Do It Again」、同年「Get Right Blues」などがあります。
