    ロング・ジョン・ハンター　Long John Hunter

    1931年7月13日にルイジアナ州リングゴールドで生まれ、テキサス州エルパソを拠点にして活動しました。本名はジョン・サーマン・ハンター・ジュニア( John Thurman Hunter Jr. )と言います。B.B.キングの影響下にあります。1953年にデュークへ初録音し、その後、ユッカ、ダブルトラブル、アリゲーターなどにも録音しています。アルバムは、1988年「Texas Border Town Blues」、1992年「Ride with Me」、1994年「Smooth Magic」、1996年「Border Town Legend」、1997年「Swinging from the Rafters」、1999年「Ooh Wee Pretty Baby!」、同1999年「Lone Star Shootout」、2003年「One Foot in Texas」、2009年「Looking for a Party」があります。2016年1月4日にアリゾナ州フェニックスの自宅で死去しました。
