ナンシー・グリフィス Nanci Griffith
1980年代に減衰しつつあったカントリー界に新風（彼女の言葉で言えば”folkabilly”）を吹き込んだ自作自演歌手です。ウディ・ガスリー、ロレッタ・リンから影響を受けたと言っています。1953年7月6日にテキサス州セグウィンで生まれ、後に同州オースティンで育ち、現在はテネシー州ナッシュヴィルに居住しています。1944年のアルバム「Other Voices, Other Rooms」でグラミー賞の最優秀現代フォークアルバム賞( Best Contemporary Folk Album )を受賞しました。その他たくさんのアルバムがありますが、1986年「The Last of the True Believers」、1987年「Lone Star State of Mind」、1988年「Little Love Affairs」などが有名です。
