キャロライナ・チョコレート・ドロップスのリード・シンガーとして知られています。またソロとしても活動しています。1977年2月21日にノース・キャロライナ州グリーンズボロで生まれました。ソロ名義でのアルバムは、2015年「Tomorrow Is My Turn」、2017年「Freedom Highway」、2019年「There Is No Other」などがあります。
2016年3月14日、15日に来日公演しました。
