ジャイアント・サンド　Giant Sand

ハウ・ゲルブ( Howe Gelb, [作詞・作曲, vo] )とキャレキシコのジョーイ・バーンズ( John Convertino, [dr] )、ジョン・コンバーティノ( Joey Burns, [bs] )の三人組でアリゾナ州トゥーソンを拠点に活動しました。中心人物のハウ・ゲルブは1956年にペンシルバニアで生まれ、1972年にトゥーソンに移住しました。ハウ・ゲルブはボブ・ディランやニール・ヤングからの影響と、ジャズ・ピアニストのセロニアス・モンク( Thelonious Monk )から受けた感銘を混交した音楽を打ち出しました。代表アルバムは1988年「The Love Songs」、1992年「Center Of The Universe」、2000年「Chore of Enchantment」、2002年「Cover Song」があります。2002年にキャレキシコの二人は自身の音楽活動に専念するために抜けています。
