    ウォルター・デイヴィス　Walter Davis

    1912年3月1日にミシシッピー州グレナダで生まれ、13歳の時にセントルイスに移住しました。彼のピアノ演奏を聞いたルーズベルト・サイクスの口利きでRCAに紹介され、1930年に初吹き込みしたのが、有名な「M&O Blues」です。以降、1957年までビクター、ブルーバードに数多くの録音を残しました。彼はブギ・ウギはあまり弾かず、スロー・ブルースに持ち味を出しています。1963年にセントルイスで死去しました。
